  7.                This section tells you is how to become a registered user
  8.           once you decide that you like the program and want to use it on a
  9.           regular basis.
  10.  
  11.                Bingo is distributed under the shareware marketing concept;
  12.           it is not free software and it has not been released to the
  13.           public domain. The documentation, executable images, and all
  14.           other files distributed with Bingo are copyrighted.
  15.  
  16.                Shareware is a way of distributing computer software that
  17.           allows you to try out a program before you purchase it. Programs
  18.           distributed as shareware typically give you some period of time
  19.           to use the program and evaluate its usefulness to you. If the
  20.           program doesn't meet your needs, you're under no obligation to
  21.           pay for it. If you do find the program useful and wish to
  22.           continue using it on a regular basis, the shareware program's
  23.           author usually requests that you pay for the program by sending
  24.           him or her a completed registration form and payment. This is the
  25.           approach I have taken in making Bingo available to the public.
  26.  
  27.                If you find Bingo to be a useful addition to your software
  28.           library, you're requested to become a registered user by
  29.           completing the enclosed registration form and returning it along
  30.           with the indicated license/registration fee. I hope that you will
  31.           agree that the $30.00 license fee is a small price to pay for the
  32.           continued use of the program. It requires a large investment to
  33.           develop, market, and support a product of this complexity. Your
  34.           support in the form of a license/registration fee will continue
  35.           to make good software available at low prices.
  36.  
  37.                Quantity discounts are available to business, government,
  38.           and other organizations that wish to use Bingo on multiple
  39.           computer systems. Bingo is also available at very special rates
  40.           to organizations who wish to use it in promotional campaigns.
  41.           Write the author for information on using the program this way.

  43.                You are granted a limited license to use and examine Bingo
  44.           on a trial basis to determine if Bingo is suitable for your
  45.           needs. If you find Bingo useful and continue to use it on a
  46.           regular basis, you should complete and return the registration
  47.           form along with the indicated license/registration fee.

  52.                You are encouraged to make copies of Bingo for the trial use
  53.           of other individuals and organizations, subject to the following
  54.           restrictions:

  56.                1) All Bingo distribution files must be copied in unmodified
  57.                form.
  58.                2) You may not include any other files with the distributed
  59.                copy.
  60.                3) You may not request compensation of any sort for
  61.                providing the copy. This restriction does not apply to
  62.                computer clubs and user groups who distribute software to
  63.                their members for a nominal fee.
  64.  
  65.                You may not distribute Bingo with any other product or
  66.           service without written permission of the author.
  67.  
  68.                Bingo may be included on electronic bulletin board systems
  69.           for downloading by users of the bulletin board provided the above
  70.           restrictions are met.

  72.                Bingo and all accompanying materials are provided "as is"
  73.           without warranty of any kind. The entire risk of using Bingo is
  74.           assumed by you.

  76.                The author, Christopher R. S. Schanck, makes no warranty of
  77.           any kind, expressed or implied, including but not limited to any
  78.           warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular
  79.           purpose.

  81.                In no event will the author, Christopher R. S. Schanck, be
  82.           liable for any damages whatsoever arising out of your use or
  83.           inability to use the program.

  85.                If you use Bingo on a regular basis, you should complete the
  86.           registration form at the end of this document and return it along
  87.           with the indicated license/registration fee. Registration gives
  88.           you the right to use the software as documented in the license.
  89.  
  90.                The registration fee of $30.00 establishes you as a
  91.           registered user of Bingo. You will receive the next version of
  92.           Bingo free.  After that, you will be notified of each subsequent
  93.           version, and they will be available for a five (5) dollar fee.
  94.  
  95.                When you submit your registration fee, however, you can
  96.           request that the author mail you a copy of the current version of
  97.           Bingo and accompanying documentation on disk (3.5" or 5.25") for
  98.           free. This offer is made for mailing addresses in the continental
  99.           United States only.
